Travis Lofts exemplifies the spirit of renewal and character of historic downtown Sherman. The 1920's era structure has been magnificently transformed into 23 luxury loft-style and traditional apartments for convenient and gracious in-town living. Additional retail/office space fronts Travis Street on the ground level of the main building.
Travis Lofts has a rich history beginning in 1887 thru 1923 when it served as a hotel annex after which time the Marks Brothers Department Stores occupied the subject site. Montgomery Ward Department Store then moved in circa 1945 through some time after 1970 when The Baker Wholesale Candy Company moved in until circa 1990. The other one story building, which is currently used as the secured parking area, began as a livery stable until circa 1923 when Sherman Printing and Coca-Cola Bottling occupied those addresses.
